Sir Richard Branson, best known perhaps for being known (but also for launching 400 or so companies) and for envelope pushing, has launched an iPad-only magazine called Project.  The app is free, but individual issues (either the U.K., U.S., or Canadian versions) will cost you $2.99 a pop.

The first thing you’ll notice is that Project is not simply a magazine that displays on the iPad.  That would have been cool enough.  Rather, right from the cover, you realize that this will be a different experience.  Play the 18 second cover video (link after the break) and you’ll see what I mean.  The cover may not offer much in terms of utility, or information, but it announces, in a quasi-futuristic way that this is not your father’s glossy old magazine from the mid 2010s.
